Career Description

 Medical Office Assistant to work in a fast-paced walk-in clinic. Basic expectation that applicant is articulate, and able to speak and write intelligently.

Duties include :

  • Patient registration/ check out using Docutap Electronic Medical Record
  • Obtaining vital signs
  • Assistance with minor surgical procedures
  • Medical office inventory
  • Phlebotomy
  • Splinting
  • Ear irrigation
  • History taking
  • Docutap EMR


Job Requirements

Use of practice management software to do insurance verifications, schedule out patient testing.

Data Entry

History Taking

Administer Injections

Assist with lacerations, x-rays, and other minor surgical procedures

Splinting sprained/broken extremities

Ear irrigations

Prior authorizations

Scheduling outpatient testing


CLIA waived testing.


Necessary Skills

Required Qualifications:
High school diploma

Medical Assistant training from and accredited institution
Knowledge of medical terminology
Direct patient care experience in a medical office or clinic setting
Experience/Education as a Medical Assistant, enrollment in an accredited medical assisting certification program

Ability to check and record vital signs
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
Exceptional communication and organizational skills

Must be able to MULTI-TASK

Preferred Qualifications:  

Graduation from an accredited Administrative/ Clinical Medical Assistant program 
1+ year experience as a Medical Assistant
Knowledge of front and back office duties, CLIA waived testing, insurance verification

Phlebotomy certification
Experience with Electronic Medical Records and other medical office software
Bilingual (Spanish)and/or Haitian Creole a plus
